I am usually writing you with some information about an article I have added to the blog or some new feature that I have added to the website. But, alas, today I am the bearer of bad news.

Since there was a very low user response to the reader polls, I have decided to stop with them for the time being. This does not mean that I will never bring them back but I think I am going to wait for a bit.

The one thing that you may have noticed over the past couple of days is that Digg badges have started to show up on the main articles. This is to just give you the reader and idea of what others are thinking of these articles. If you find that you enjoyed an article or found it to be useful, feel free to Digg it. This will help out DCoT as it will draw more attention to the website.

Actually, just submitting the articles to Digg has made a huge difference. My page hits nearly tripled yesterday! I do not expect that this will continue but it sure was cool to watch it happen!

I remember my first time. It was awkward. I wasn’t sure exactly what to do. And when everything was all said and done, nothing ended up working right.

This is a common story for people when they try to burn an ISO for the first time (What were you thinking!!?). I wanted to make this a simple experience for users. So, I create and AutoIt script that, when compiles with some software and an ISO, created an SBISO or self-burning ISO. I provide the reader with complete code and files in Create a Self-Burning ISO with AutoIt. Everything that you need to create your own SBISOs!

As I have stated in the past, I am extremely lazy. If I can do something that will save me from having to walk 5 steps, I will do it!

I was starting to feel that it was too much effort to get up from my Windows XP box and go over to my eMac which was almost 3 feet away! The results of my laziness are outlines in Remote Control Mac From Windows. You can “pull the strings” on your OSX “puppet” from your Windows box and work on the system as if you were actually at the system itself. When you completely implement this solution, it looks something like this:

I estimate that I will save 12.4 days of effort over my lifetime with this little trick. (OK. I made this number up wouldn’t it be cool if it were true?) Imagine how much time you could save if the computer was in another room, building, or country!

This is just going to be a quick entry today but I have something good for you guys tomorrow! In the meantime, the good people at [Geeks Are Sexy] (like we needed to be told that!) have come up with The Dirty Dozen: 12 Suggestions For Making Your Mark In The Blogosphere. A very important read for anyone who is either blogging or interested in blogging.

In other news, Google has just signed a deal to buy YouTube for $1.65 billion. I wonder how this will change YouTube and Google Video?

I’ve been doing some housekeeping this weekend with the website. I have tried to add some improvements to the site to make it more usable. Here is a list of things that I have done:

  • Upgraded the poll software to a new version
  • Added a rating system for posts and articles
