Edit Any Webpage (Kinda)
From the Completely-Useless-But-Kinda-Fun Department, I give you the ability to edit any webpage on the Internet! Well, actually, you will only edit the cached copy of the page on your computer but you can sure make some very impressive looking webpages in short order.
All you need to do is drag the Edit Page link below to your Bookmark Toolbar.
Then, browse to your favorite website and click on the Edit Page shortcut. Now, start editing!
Once again, kind of useless but it can be really helpful when you would like to edit a page before printing so you don’t get all the extra junk!
If you found this post useful, why don't you buy me a cup of coffee to show your gratitude?

August 23rd, 2008 at 8:18 amJust a warning… viewing this post via Google Reader, the link provided didn’t work. It was just “javascript:void(0);” rather than the full command.

August 23rd, 2008 at 11:53 amIt only sortof works for me: It works on your page here when I click on the link. But I saved it in my “links” folder in Favorites, and when I try to use that it opens a separate javascript page that is blank. Please give me more options on how to make it work. Thanks.

August 23rd, 2008 at 10:06 pmOK, here’s how I got it to work in IE (I’m still using version 6): create a new bookmark, of any page, and then pull up your favorites list. RIGHT-Click on the new bookmark, and click on Properties. In the URL box, paste this as one line:
javascript:document.body.contentEditable=’true’;%20document.designMode=’on’;%20void%200
and click OK.
I got the message “The protocol “javascript” does not have a registered program. Do you want to keep this target anyway?”
Click Yes.
Feel free to rename your bookmark.
Now next time you click on that bookmark, whatever page you’re viewing becomes temporarily editable.
