Tech Blog of the Week
When I first started to think about blogging, I actually almost decided against it. I saw so many really good tech blogs out there that I was not really certain that I had anything more to contribute. But, I decided to take a chance and the blogging community has really welcomed me with open arms.
Now that I have been doing this for a while, I thought that I should start shining the spotlight on some other worthy tech blogs out there. Unfortunately, this task is far too large for me to do an my own. So, I am asking you, the DCoT readers, for some help.
I would like you to nominate your favorite tech blog (it can also be your own) for the Daily Cup of Tech Tech Blog of the Week. Each week, I will select a different blog to highlight. They will receive their own award graphic that they can place on their website along with a link to the wonderful things said about them. They will also be added to the DCoT blogroll and custom search engine.
To submit a blog for this honor, you simply need to go to the submission page and enter it in the (very short) form. But, please before you submit that blog!
I am looking forward to seeing some of the excellent blogs that are out there.

March 27th, 2007 at 5:22 pmIs this just a way to drive more traffic to your blog. By awarding a “graphic” to the “winner”, you are getting a lot of free exposure, some of which will obviously increase your reader numbers.

March 27th, 2007 at 8:08 pmAnyone who is writing a blog is concerned about traffic. And, yes, this may drive a bit more traffic to my blog but, in the long run, if I was interested in increasing my SEO and page rank, I would never do something like this. Simply put, the best way to have a high SEO and page rank, I would link to no websites because outgoing links reduce your rank.
And, most of these websites that I will be linking to will probably have a lower page rank than I do. If they link to my blog which has a higher page rank, it will actually reduce my page rank.
So, based on this information, it is clear that there is much more in this for the other blogs than there is for me.
Hope that answers your question, Hugh.
