March 20th, 2007 at 1:26 pmThis commercial was based on George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, and the idea was that the Mac had come to liberate the IT world from the crushing, Big Brother-like IBM PC. The theme of comparing between PCs and Macs continues to this day.

March 20th, 2007 at 5:49 pmThe version on YouTube you have embedded on your webpage has the unfortunate delay of audio with motion (audio doesn’t match the mouth motions). If you look closer on YouTube, you’ll find a correct version. I did earlier today; was drawn to it after hearing about the Barack Obama spoof ad.
This one is a classic. One of the greatest of all time, IMO. And to think Apple almost didn’t air it.
