Windows Home ServerWell, I was lucky enough to get on he Windows Home Server beta list and I have downloaded the entire contents of the system (1.71 GB) to my hard drive. I decided to set it up as a virtual machine in VMware so that I can more easily document the progress.

Not exactly a screaming success to begin with!

Here is Microsoft’s official stance:

 Windows Home Server setup is not supported in virtualization.

With that being said, I have been hearing rumors that it will work under Virtual PC 2007:

 I installed it using VPC2007 and had no issues, all went through perfectly.

So, with that said, it looks like I will be downloading Virtual PC and getting it running on this system.  I’ll keep you posted as to my progress.
