Daily Cup of Tech

Writing and maintaining a blog is a lot of hard work. When I initially got into this, I thought that I might put in an hour or two each week. Now, I’m realizing that I’m lucky if I can get away with an hour or two each day! But, I have to admit, I am pretty addicted to it!

What I would like to do is put out an open call to all you loyal DCoTers out there to get involved. I am looking for people who would be interested in contributing the occasional post to DCoT. This is not a major commitment but, rather, an opportunity to contribute a bit more than just a comment at the end of a post or article.

I see this as a win-win scenario for everyone. As a contributor, you will get:

1. contributor status in the Daily Cup of Tech blog
2. a @DailyCupOfTech.com e-mail address that will automatically forward to your own e-mail address
3. no deadlines or pressure to submit regular posts or entries
4. an About the Author entry at the end of each of your posts telling about you and providing readers links and information about your other work on the Internet, etc.
5. a chance to be heard from a regular audience of thousands of readers
6. an opportunity to promote your own website

Now, there will be some rules that need to be followed such as:

1. The posts must be real posts and not just shameless promotion/blog spam
2. Each contributor will not have the ability to publish posts, so they must go through me before they are released on the rest of the world (I do want to keep some control over my own blog)
3. All posts must be technology related but not necessarily technical in nature
4. “Timeless” blog entries are the best ones so that I can release them as I see fit and they are still relevant. Tim sensitive news items probably will not make a good post
5. Technical howto posts will probably be well received
6. Not everyone who requests contributor status will receive contributor status
7. You must be the original author. Plagiarism will not be tolerated
8. Contributor status may be revoked at any time without notice

So, interested? If so, follow these steps:

1. If you haven’t already, register a user account with Daily Cup of Tech
2. Send me an e-mail with a sample article. If the article has been published elsewhere on the Internet, please also include a link. Also provide an About the Author summary that you would like to have appear at the bottom of each of your posts
3. Wait

I will then look at your article and if I find it interesting, you’re in!
