PC Repair System Bug Found and Fixed
A bug was found in the PC Repair System that prevented the File Assassin program from running. I have repaired the problem and uploaded a new version of the download.
If you would like, you can repair the problem yourself. Simply go into the FileAssassin folder in the USB drive. Then rename FileASSASSINext.dll to FileASSASSIN.dll.
If you found this post useful, why don't you buy me a cup of coffee to show your gratitude?

Program searches for Eraser.dll, which would normally be found at c:\Windows\System32\Eraser.dll…if you include eraser.dll in the program folder on the USB drive, you get a new error: “The procedure entry point ??1CFileLockResolver@@QAE@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library eraser.dll”
I’m using a Dell, P4, 2.8GHz running WinXP 2002, SP2 with 1GB RAM, if that helps.
I am no programmer, so I don’t have a clue what else could be wrong.

Insert eraser.dll and get a new error message. Change erasext.dll to eraser.dll and also get a new error message.

January 13th, 2007 at 3:26 pmThe solution is fairly straightforward:
1. Download Eraser from http://ovh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/eraser/eraser582setup.exe
2. Install it
3. Browse to the windows/system32 directory. There should be a file called Eraser.dll now. Copy it into the Eraser directory on your USB drive.
4. Now Eraser should be working from within the repair system on your USB drive, so you can safely uninstall it from your hard disk if you were so inclined.BTW: I love this neat little package. Have it installed on an old 128Mb stick together with a really light PortableApps configuration. Together with the latest version of UBCD4Win I should be able to fix even the most crippled PC now ;). Thanx for that!
