I do a lot of my work in VMware systems. It is easier to do documentation and it limits the number of systems that I need at any one time. But, in order for your VMware systems to work the most efficiently, it is best to install the VMware tools on your VMware systems.
If you are doing this on a Windows system, it is a relatively simple task. But, if you are doing this with a Linux system, it can be a bit more involved.
To help relieve some of that pain, I have discovered an article called Installing VMware Tools 5.5.2 on Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft. It provides a very clear step-by-step tutorial on installing these tools on your favorite Ubuntu system.
