Wordpress Rating Plugin E-Mail Question
From time to time, people will send me e-mails with technical questions. I like to share these questions on the blog so that others can contibute and benefit from them. Here is the first one…
First I am Fan!
Do you use Wordpress? If you use it: what rating plugin do you use?
Thank you
Dominik
Dominik,
Glad to hear that you like the blog. When you are plugging away at an article at 3:AM and once you post it, someone tears it apart, it is really easy to get frustrated and want to quit. It’s the regular readers, commenters, and e-mailers that make it all worthwhile.
Yes, I do use Wordpress for the blog. It was recommended to me and I have not regretted the decision.
As for the ratings plugin, I use WP-PostRatings by GaMerZ. I have found that it is probably one of the easiest rating systems to use out there.
GaMerZ also has a number of other Wordpress plugins including:
- WP-DBManager - Manages your Wordpress database. Allows you to optimize database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database and run selected queries.
- WP-EMail - Enable you to send your webblog entry to a friend.
- WP-PageNavi - Adds a page navigation with paging elements to your WordPress.
- WP-Polls - Adds an integrated poll system to your WordPress.
- WP-PostViews - Enables you to display how many times a post had been viewed.
- WP-Print - Displays a printable version of your WordPress weblog post.
- WP-RelativeDate - Displays relative date alongside with your post/comments actual date.
- WP-Stats - Display your WordPress statistics.
- WP-UserOnline - Enable you to display how many users are online on your Wordpress with detailed statistics of where they are and who there are(Members/Guests/Search Bots).
- WP-Wap - Browse your WordPress weblog entries on a Wap enabled mobile phone.
I highly recommend any of the plugins that GaMerZ creates!
If you found this post useful, why don't you buy me a cup of coffee to show your gratitude?

November 9th, 2006 at 4:22 pmDo you know if the ratings plugin works along with WP-Cache? I’ve not had good luck with plugin compatibility, but I really need WP-Cache.

I have used both of them together and they seem to work nicely. But, I have had trouble with WP-Cache in general so I have disabled it.Tim
